From the remains of the Belvedere temple of Etruscan origin, to the 14th-century fortress of Cardinal Egidio Albornoz, to the Pozzo di San Patrizio, a masterpiece of engineering, built by Antonio da Sangallo at the behest of Pope Clement VII, who took refuge in Orvieto after the sack of Rome in 1527. We will then take a short and easy route to the symbol of the city, the Duomo dedicated to the Virgin of the Assumption, a jewel of Romanesque-Gothic architecture. The "Golden Lily" of cathedrals, for its golden mosaics illuminating the splendid façade, it houses masterpieces by Luca Signorelli and Francesco Mochi and the sacred linen of the Miracle of Corpus Christi.

In the afternoon we visit the medieval quarters and the Well of the Quarry or alternatively Orvieto Underground

Visit the interior of the cathedral, basement, and museum of the Opera del Duomo, Emilio Greco Museum, Faina Museum.

Entrance Orvieto Underground, to be decided on the spot.

Il percorso inizia da P.le Cahen con le sue testimonianze di diversi momenti storici: dai resti del tempio del Belvedere di origine etrusca, alla rocca trecentesca del Cardinal Egidio Albornoz, al Pozzo di San Patrizio, capolavoro di ingegneria, realizzato da Antonio da Sangallo per volere papa Clemente VII che dopo il sacco di Roma, nel 1527 si rifugiò ad Orvieto.
