Accomodation - Destinazione Subasio
The estate is private and has been restored little by little over the last 10 years. What was once an abandoned valley now comprises a centuries-old terraced olive grove, a 5.7-hectare vineyard, a truffle farm, and pastures that produce a wide variety of organic products.
Set at the foot of Monte Tezio, in a valley framed by hills where wildlife thrives undisturbed, the church offers breathtaking views in every direction. To the south, Mount Subasio and the town of Assisi; to the west, the ancient castle of Antognolla; to the north, the woods and the Apennines. The ancient 12th-century valley now forms with the adjacent rural residence a country house that can accommodate up to 14 people. The buildings have been restored with the utmost attention to detail, and the use of the best local materials, with the sole aim of making guests feel at home, hoping that they will want to come back again, and again.
It is a country house with 8 bedrooms (6 doubles and 2 singles), nestled in an unspoilt, silent valley, surrounded by hills, meadows, woods, vineyards and olive groves. You get there by following a dirt road of about 1 km that branches off from the main road. Once you reach the church, the view takes your breath away. The complex is not too isolated from the built-up area, but an immaculate atmosphere of peace and quiet reigns here. The nearest town with shops is Pierantonio, and is a ten-minute drive away; Umbertide, which is the largest town in the area, is about a quarter of an hour away; Perugia is a 25-minute drive.
As mentioned, the complex is divided into two parts: the church, and the rural residence.
The old church has a large and well-stocked kitchen, a dining room, and a spacious living room in the main hall. The main hall of the church has been restored to its original size. It is a building full of charm, conveying a sense of peace with all its load of history. It is furnished with comfortable sofas and a grand piano, and is perfect for hosting relaxing activities, such as yoga and meditation, but can also become a recreational space. The large window offers a beautiful view of the landscape outside. The retractable screen on the side of the altar can be used to watch films or sporting events. To the side of the living room is the dining room, which can seat 14 people. There is a wood-burning stove for colder days and a French door leading to an outdoor area protected by a pergola and equipped with a large wooden table and chairs, seating 14 or more. The kitchen is located at the front of the building. It is well stocked, and equipped with a double oven, cooker with 6 hobs, dishwasher, microwave, and spacious refrigerator. There is also a small table and chairs. Adjacent to the kitchen, there is a bathroom for the disabled. In front of the outdoor entrance to the kitchen, there is a shaded area with barbecue equipment.
The restored rural residence has 8 rooms and 6 bathrooms: 5 double rooms with private bathroom, and one twin room with shared bathroom with the neighbouring single room (equipped with washbasin). On the ground floor, there is another single room with washbasin, without bathroom.
